Topic: Geophysical Methodology and Geotechnical Collaboration for Evaluating Levee Systems
This presentation discusses how the Geophysics multi-channel analysis of surface waves (MASW) method was used in conjunction with geotechnical investigations to develop a comprehensive and more accurate representation of subsurface conditions for a long levee system. It explains the use of both non-intrusive (geophysical) and intrusive (drilling) techniques to efficiently investigate and evaluate the condition of the Broward County segment of the East Coast Protective Levee (ECPL) system in south Florida.

Location: FAU Boca Raton Campus- Nations Multipurpose Room (Rm. 109)

Directions: From I-95, head East on Glades Rd. Then take a left at West University Drive (Main FAU Entrance). Head North, and take the first right onto Indian River Street and an immediate left on Dade Ave. Metered Parking is available at Lot 18 on your left and the Nations Multipurpose Room is in building SH-46 on the east side of Dade Ave.
